A slightly different holiday
It's that time of the year again when Christmas and New Year cheer is in the air. Family and close friends get together for dinner and to enjoy each others company. Pity that the holidays fall in the weekend, so no extra off days this year. Although I have the Monday and Tuesday off myself :)
My holidays are a bit different this year. This mostly due to my big plans on leaving The Netherlands for a while and exchanging it with at least Australia (might extend it to New Zealand). My plan is to go for several months and backpack through the country while working occasionally. Just before the Christmas weekend I've packed and boxed up most of my books, movies, CD's, clothes, furniture and other stuff. All of it will be moved to my parents in the lower regions of The Netherlands. Even the server this blog is running on while be moved next week.
After about 13 years in Rotterdam for my studies and working I'll be saying goodbye this coming Friday for at least the duration of my travels. I've learned a lot from my time in the city and made plenty of friends, which I'll miss during my trip. I'm not sure if I'll move back to Rotterdam but I certainly move back towards the randstad area of The Netherlands.
So as one chapter of my life closes another opens up, I hope for several months, and I am very excited :D I'll be continuing this blog from the other side of the world soon, mostly about my adventures there.
I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
